Art :: Performance
Art when it involves the artist acting out, playing a role in real time is performance art. The actions of a person or group of people within a particular space in time make up the work. The elements involve are space, time, the performer's body and relationship between performer and audience. Performance art could include dance, music and theater, but it usually refers to art within the visual arts that's conceptual in nature. Works by Yoko Ono, Yves Klein, Vitoi Acconci, and Joseph Beuys come to mind. It is meant to be experienced by the audience as it's happening.
Naked Women bodypainting fabric for fashion label WolfRayet
Four naked women used their body as paintbrushes, rubbing, turning, rolling and crawling on the floor covered by a big piece of fabric. Their red body imprints make interesting marks and designs on the fabric. Their every movement is recorded on the fabric. It's a mapping project in this sense.

Performance at opening of Matthew Barney's "Drawing Restraint" at SFMOMA on June 21, 2006. An Asian woman in geisha outfit dances in the gallery and women's restroom to Bjork's song. It's dramatic.
Alanis Morissette "My Humps" Video Parody
It's important to laugh at each other and ourselves sometimes. Alanis Morissette takes artistic license with Blackeye Peas song. She gives it her interpretation. She sings slowly but still tries to muster as much hump and sexiness as she can. At the end, she laughs with us. It's all in good fun - one artist laughing at another.
Anaheim Ballet: More Than Dance
Ballet dancers from the Anaheim Ballet rehearse their art. Their movements are precise, graceful and fluid. One movement leads into another as though weaving a narrative. Ballet as an art form can be dramatic. It's amazing to watch the ballet dancers work on gaining control over their bodies and movements. Like Edgar Degas, I like watching the rehearsals. The human body is a beauty creation.
