Feminism :: Activism

Feminism is activism. It is a politicized philosophy that involves issues of gender. There divide between men and women will continue to exist. See how feminist activist groups such as the Guerilla Girls have confronted the inequalities between the sexes. See how you can participate in this movement.

The Guerilla Girls at the Feminist Future Symposium, MOMA

They take famous dead female artists as pseudonyms. Frida Kahlo and Kathe Kollwitz, two founding members of the feminist activist group, the Guerilla Girls, talk about the inequality in the art world, how it's biased toward male artists. Lots of the art were originally stolen. The art world isn't getting better of women artists. They use humor, facts, and outrage visuals to expose sexism, racism, and corruption in art world, politics, film, and pop culture. The Guerilla Girls have asked in one billboard, "Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?" What is at stake for female artists?
