Feminism :: Prostitution

Prostitution is a complex issue that has been heavily debated in feminist discourse. It affects society as a whole by objectifying women. According to the feminist perspective, prostitution represents the exploitation and corruption of women and children. Some want it abolished or regulated as sex work. Radical feminists believe that consent is not possible in prostitution, given male domination and violence.

In interviews with prostitutes, some have said they choose to be in it. However, often the choice is between prostitution or other sexual abuse at home and poverty.
