To be a skater is be fearless. They skate around the bowl with urgency and skill. The practice sessions are more interesting than their individual rides. They feed off each other and the bowl is a flurry of action. The friction of the wheels of their boards against the concrete tracks their movement. The music provides the rhythm for them to move to. It becomes a dance in a way. Skateboarding is huge culturally in California. Most people grow up with it, whether they go on to compete as they do at the Vans Park Series and get a chance to win prize money and get noticed or just skate as a hobby. The vibe is amazing. Defintely something to experience in real life.
